frieren was a really enjoyable anime for me to watch. frieren is an experienced elf that was trained by a human with a love for magic. in turn, frieren also loves magic the same way and has been training and collecting spells even after her master’s death. she was recruited by himmel to join his party aiming to defeat the demon king and bring a peaceful era to the world. the story begins with the end of their decade long adventure and 50 years after it when the humans in her party are at the end of their lifespan.
she takes on a student at the request of a dying teammate and recruits a warrior too whom was trained by her teammate. together she leads a new party with on a quest to arrive at heaven. during this adventure, they encounter people that frieren was due to make a visit or they come across some people in their travels. they face challenges and continue to meet more characters that remind frieren of the lessons she was taught during her past experiences but this time shes not the student of the lesson but rather the teacher.
